Developer Diary #1

By mynameisfyfe

It’s a weird feeling to actually sit down and write about filming that I’ve actually done. I’m not so used to it really, I kind of got myself into a groove of doing nothing and writing about things that have actually happened is new to me.

Filming is fun, but at the same time painfully difficult. What makes a film good? Nobody knows really. Nobody knows what they like about certain shots and certain sequences, and really it’s impossible to find out for the purposes of making a film, unless you film hours and hours of shots that you feel work, watch them a million times until you can see them for what they are – silly – and then try again. It’s easy to see why all of the amatuer films on youtube- even popular ones, suck.

I want to surprise people with the qualiy of what we’re making, and I do mean we. I feel like my job is just to channel everyone elses ideas and put them into one place. I don’t evne know what I’m doing, but it seems to be working.

The best work is done when there is no resistance at all, and the unfortunate end of this is that you don’t really feel like you’ve done anything. Still, as more and more scenes fall on my lap, I can’t help but feel estatic that each one emerges – even if I have no idea how they happened.

Part of me feels like saying ‘I’m getting good at this’ because i seem to be getting exactly what I wanted out of this all, but when I’m realistic I can see that this is alll just happening, through the imagination of those around me with their ability to draw out the important ideas from my distant mumblings.

    Hey man,

If I manage to get a vehicle I will drive to Buxton to do the film, that’s a big if.

I am glad it is going well, and if you are getting exactly what you want out of it, then it should be great,

Maybe Sharapova in the film as well………. just a thought
